Commercial build in Mount Maunganui. This is an office/retail building on Mount Maunganui’s main street, with exposed steel frames and Rib & Infill concrete first floor. Challenges presented through this design included underpinning existing building foundations on the boundary and tying into the existing building structure.
Tauranga CBD commercial build. A 2-storey office/hospitality building with steel moment frames and suspended concrete first floor slab. Heavily reinforced raft slab was required to mitigate soft marine soils and to protect the building against liquefaction induced settlements.
Tauranga CBD commercial build. A 2-storey office/retail space comprising a steel moment frame building with 30m deep screw piled foundations to overcome liquefaction risks. Slender cantilever awnings and timber architectural façade frames posed further engineering challenges, which our team were also able to efficiently resolve. DATE 2017
